About the destination

Playa del Carmen was originally a small fishing village south of Cancun, but in recent years it has transformed into a bustling tourist resort. It is one of the most vibrant and diverse towns on the Mayan Riviera. Playa del Carmen offers warm tropical breezes, world-class cuisine, vibrant nightlife, amazing ruins, endless beaches, incredible snorkeling, wonderful parks, friendly locals, and so much more. It can be as relaxed or as wild as you want it to be. Playa del Carmen is an excellent base for exploring all the interesting places on the Mayan Riviera and the Yucatan Peninsula. The island of Cozumel, which offers some of the best snorkeling and scuba diving in the world, is just a short boat ride away. The site of Chichén Itzá is 3 hours away, but it's definitely worth the trip!
