The city of Tequila is located northwest of Guadalajara, in the highlands (Los Altos) of the northwestern Mexican state of Jalisco. Tequila is renowned as the birthplace of the drink that shares its name, "tequila," which is crafted from the blue agave plant native to this region. It has also been designated as a Magical Town. The main attraction here is the drink that shares the town's name. There are several distilleries and tours that explore the tequila-making process. In addition, there are two churches in the center and the central plaza, which also features a monument to a revolutionary hero.
